Many computer experts caution not to run two anti-malware programs simultaneously as it might cause serious trouble. This too has an exception. Both the anti-malware must not be installed on the same computer. Reason behind is that both the program is running on the background of the computer at the same time. Whenever you open the file that you download or run, both the program processes check on it. This slows down the computer as well as brings in the trouble as both runs on the computer as the same time.

Trial and error method
One can just try analytical trial and error method but running two anti malware programs with firewall on along with antivirus program. In some cases it will work and in some cases it will not work. The reason depends on the type or kind of anti malware or antivirus got installed.

Cases for Installation of anti malware software programs

There is a case where Anti malware was installed with other one more anti malware program. Initially it worked alright but then it no longer accepted updates for it.  It had the same trouble in spite of reinstalling it again. There is another case where the computer operator operated more than 12 security programs on his computer simultaneously.

Each and every antimalware processed updates without any trouble. But trouble only remained for one particular anti malware program as it was not accepting other anti malwares running in same computer together. There was trouble with one and only one anti-malware program. Other anti-malware programs were as competent as the present one which did not accept the other anti-malware programs working with it.

Ability of anti malware programs

So, if we talk about getting two or more than two anti-malware running simultaneously depends on the software program. Some will work together some will not. So argument goes on. But it is in the interest of the computer operator to run one anti malware program at a time to get away from computer breakdown. Expert also recommends scanning the computer with the non-resident anti-malware which means the anti-malware which is available online for scanning computer. The scanning of computer with both the anti-malware can be compatible or it can be troublesome.

Two modes of anti malware software programs
Anti-malware has two modes. In first modes which are scanning it examines memory and files for malware. In another mode which is monitoring components installed in the computer. So this mode keeps running constantly. It gives a caution for malicious program. So, because of this mode more than one anti malware can result in conflict with other. In some cases it may work together peacefully, but might limit each other working properly or might pronounce each other as malware in many cases.

Conclusion
As we should be well aware, different anti malware programs detect different kind of malwares. It is more useful to scan computer with more than one anti malware programs as each and every anti malware program is not absolutely helping out to detect all malware.
